This type of funding has proved to be more difficult over recent times with major banks being reluctant to lend against a development site. More and more developers are turning to Private Mortgage funders to assist in the settling of these properties as they are more sympathetic to their needs. They can typically work quickly and interest is also typically capitalised. Although this option is a more expensive one, it is generally only for a short period of time whilst the developer finalises their DA and any marketing, so the overall burden to the project is low.
